Hey there, I’m Matthew McDonald, aka Migrate South, a graphic designer with 20 years experience. And I’ve never felt more validation as a designer than when Saturday Night Live created the Papyrus sketch starring Ryan Gosling. If you choose a faulty font, know that I will judge you and discuss it at length with my therapist. I also hate writing about myself, especially in the first person. But we soldier on. 

I started off in New York and worked in all aspects of advertising and publishing. And throughout my career, I have held many positions - senior designer and copywriter, art director, presentation designer, and for the last six years as an associate creative director. Underneath the job title is a visual communicator eager to be challenged creatively and apply his experience doing good work with good people.

My favorite hobbies include buying cheap wine with well-designed labels, dissecting the typography of every restaurant menu, and adjusting askew artwork hanging in your home.
